Baking, with soda and bananas.

It is vitally important to keep promises.

Yesterday I promised 19 I would make some more wheaten bread and banana muffins. Today I kept that promise.

First up, wheaten bread.

Next was a soda farl. This was baked rather than griddled making it more what my mother would call an Oven Scone but the recipe is the same and my griddle is in hiding. Plus the recipe said bake and who am I to argue with Darina Allen?

Then we moved on to a dozen banana muffins. They are one of 19′s favourite cakes.

Favourite enough, apparently, to scarf one straight out of the oven because he was off out and wanted one before he left.

I went with a light Demerara crust for these, I think it worked.
