You will have a hard time persuading me there is a better way to begin that day than with a cup of tea, or several. By the time I had this cup I had already downed a couple of hug ceramic mugs of the brew. My plan was to make the most of today as I had a nasty shock on Monday. Oh, don’t worry, when I say nasty I don’t mean there was anything wrong with anyone, unless you count my memory. I work part-time and on a three-week rota. After several months I still cannot be counted to know which week it is without my diary in front of me. For some reason my brain decided to delude me into thinking I had only half a day to work this week. Yes, anyone with any sense would have realised that wasn’t very likely. I never claimed to have much sense. I was due to work on Monday but had booked it as leave to look after our youngest home from school as it was a teacher training day. My husband disabused me of the notion I had only half a day on Thursday left to work when he returned from work Monday evening. Only too pleased to be working a short day himself he gleefully reminded me I would still be toiling till 7.30 p.m.
I’ve got to be the bigger person about this.
To make the most of a day with breaks in the rain and while I had the chance I took myself out for a walk.

Autumn is of course beginning to show herself. The leaves here are still mostly green, as you can see, but here and there the colours are changing. The coming weeks will see a greater change, so many photo opportunities there will be.

Today I made the most of a short while of clear blue skies, fields full of sheep and lots of fresh air. And a scooter, parked under a tree. I’m going to be honest, I took this route hoping to see the scooter, I had spotted it one day I was along here before and snapped it with the iPhone. Sadly the angle at which it was parked and the fact I could hear, or thought I could hear, voices nearby on that occasion stopped me from getting a decent shot. Today the driver was a little kinder, parking it so nicely and being nowhere to be seen. Unless they saw me and said nothing.
I won’t think about it, ‘eh?

I hope your day gave you a chance to do something enjoyable and perhaps offered you a pleasurable little oddity.
