Have you noticed how sometimes without planning things seem to work? I have. This weekend things have certainly fallen into place. In August I received my daughter’s respite dates for the final quarter of this year. As is typical for us we had not requested any specific dates. About a month or so ago my sister rang to say she was coming to visit. Due to distance, my daughter’s inability to travel so far and my two bouts of ill health I haven’t seen my mother, sister or her family since March 2010. That’s a long time.
I thought another year was going to pass without seeing anyone, how wonderful to know that was going to change.
Last night two tired grown-ups and three exhausted children arrived after a long journey that began at four in the morning to get the ferry, then drive trough North Wales, England and back into South Wales. I believe they took a rather scenic route. Our girls were so pleased to see them, as of course was I.
Today happens to be respite day. This gives us a lovely chance to share together with both our daughters during the majority of this visit and to have a chance to relax this afternoon and evening knowing that our youngest is having a great time doing her own thing.
The timing worked, even though we didn’t plan it. I am thankful.
I hope your day is providing you with something good.
For those who were in Sandy’s path or have family or friends who were, I hope you are well, safe and have your power restored, or that you will not have too much longer to wait. My thoughts are with you.

Jenny Fisher - How wonderful to have space and time to be together. Lovely how life works out well sometimes
Dawn Tucker - So glad that you can spend some time with your sister and I hope you all have a great few days together.
I’ve recently spent time with my two sisters, my brother from Scotland, two nephews from Germany and neices from all over the south coast. It was due to my mothers ill health (which thankfully improved as dramatically as it had deteriorated) but, as you can imagine, we rarely all get together. In the end we were able to enjoy each others company. I hope you can do that with your sister.
Sherry - There is something serendipitous when the world works it’s magic and things fall into place, better than if we had planned them. Enjoy your long over due visit with your sister!
